📚 COSS Content

  • Juan Linietsky: "Compute is incredibly powerful, and can be used for rendering, physics or even for game logic, but also it can be very hard to understand. I will try to do a few threads to explain at a Glance what exactly it is to kick-start your learning! Expand 1st thread to find out! ( ).." Link

  • JJ: "So fresh so clean @dubdotco refer.dub.co/j" Link

  • Game Developer: "W4 Games says Godot console porting solutions land in October gamedeveloper.com/console/w4-gam..." Link

  • François Chollet: "Everything wrong about our perception of machine learning and AI is due to excessive anthropomorphism -- which the field actively promotes." Link

  • Juan Linietsky: "Continuing the thread on Compute. This time we will enlighten a bit about how GPU works. Common sense tells us that if one of these "compute units" have 64 threads, it means they have 64 parallel processors inside right? Well, not quite so.. Expand thread ( )to find out.." Link

  • Cal.com: ""While Calendly was the leader the the meeting scheduling space for the past decade, over the past few years Cal.com has given them a run for their money, and in our opinion, has has overtaken them." - @efficientapp efficient.app/compare/cal-vs..." Link

  • Quant Science: "OpenBB: A free alternative to the $20,000 Bloomberg Terminal Available 100% free on GitHub:" Link

  • nocodb: "NocoDB is taking hosting software on-premises to a whole new level with Auto-Upstall. youtube.com/watch?v=AkOWLk... What is Auto-Upstall Auto-upstall is a method that allows you to automatically install, upgrade, and secure your business software---typically with a single command or click, no fuss involved. With just one command, Auto-Upstall not only sets up your infrastructure and installs NocoDB with all necessary services, but also seamlessly configures and renews SSL certificates . Plus, you'll stay up-to-date effortlessly with automatic upgrades whenever new releases are rolled out . And it provides an easy way to scale services up and down ! Why Auto-Upstall? For years, the so-called "merchants of complexity" have convinced you that on-premise software is only for the Fortune XYZs , sovereigns , and militaries . But here's the truth: with Auto-Upstall, the tides are changing . The wind is at our backs , and a snowball effect is already underway . These small gains will soon gather unstoppable momentum, swamping everything in the path. Stay tuned. And here is the demo from Lisa V Cherian---the process as easy as a piece of cake! PS : h/t to whose work inspired us to build auto-upstall." Link

  • Steven Tey: "We just hit 1.4M clicks in the last 24 hours at @dubdotco Our first (of many) 1M-clicks days" Link

  • OpenBB: "AI + Finance + Community = Become an alpha tester and get early access to the launch of the year. Just send us a DM!" Link

  • JJ: "100% spot on! I have been saying the exact same thing for years now." Link

  • JJ: "This is so well written and I love it. Well done @briefercloud !! (Disclosure: @OSSCapital is not an investor). briefer.cloud/blog/posts/ope..." Link

  • JJ: "Remember: @GodotEngine has always had Zero fees. Make the right choice." Link

  • John Carmack: "Game console dev documentation, tools, and libraries being under NDA / partner agreements is a weird anachronism today. Microsoft would never consider doing that for a Windows API. They should just open everything up post launch and make console dev like mobile dev." Link

  • OpenBB: "We're not crying, you're crying What a journey! Thank you so much to everyone who tagged along. The best part is: we are only getting started" Link

  • Juan Linietsky: "I fully agree with this view and, as reminder, @W4Games pledged that if a console manufacturer entirely opens up their platform, so all the code can be hosted on GitHub similar to, say, iOS, the company would donate the console port to the #GodotEngine project under MIT license." Link

  • Plane: "Glance at your issues, workload, and activity, or dive into your assigned, created, and subscribed issues from a brand new 𝚈𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚔 screen. Everything you need, right where you need it" Link

  • Proton: "After the unexpected mention in last night's @joerogan podcast, people are wondering if Google is still suppressing Proton. It's complicated, but probably. Here's a bit more info." Link

  • JJ: "By a VERY wide margin, Bittensor is the most exciting technology platform emerging today. More exciting than ClosedAI, NVIDIA, and everything else combined. Look closer." Link

  • JJ: "Monetizing subnets (SaaS, etc) on Bittensor will be a transient phenomena. There's a lot of pressure to do this now because $TAO is not the reserve currency of AI, but when that happens, no need to double-capture value." Link

  • GDQuest: "We made one of the biggest open source collections of Godot shaders for learning a couple of years back: around 50 shaders, each with its own demo scene showing how to use it. Water, procedural fire, pixel-perfect 3D outlines, 3D ground that animates appearing below you... there's a lot in there. There are some great pieces by VFX artist @qbieshay in there. But it's for Godot 3. Anyone wants to help port it to Godot 4? Repository: github.com/gdquest-demos/..." Link

  • Cal.com: "It's time for our September (v4.5) changelog! Take a look at our new features and improvements from the past month." Link
